Yoga
What is reality?
The mind is alone, the song says. Sure, you have a thinking mind. The world has been explained to you in logical categories, you have been assigned a diagnosis. You have been told what is not possible, all the limitations of illness. Maybe you will never work full time, be like everyone else.
You have been told that now it is just like that, you have been told about everything you cannot achieve. Your emotions sometimes curl up and your life feels cramped. With that comes the worries for the future. Your life feels small.
What can yoga give you?
But what if you are more than this thinking mind? The mind and the diagnoses are just a tiny part of your story, of your life. This strange thinking mind is just a small part of the marvelous body you have. If you listen to your body, you can hear it speak. The field you can live in is so much bigger. You can reach a world beyond 2 +2, a place where reality opens up to something more. You might find an ocen of experiences you can travel on, even with all sorts of limitations.
In the body you can connect with the senses, feel what is happening here and now You can feel how the wind blows against your head, how it feels to just be in your body. You can do so by only moving a toe, or let the arms fly up to greet the sun and the life. A moment of presence and joy of life.
What do you need to do yoga?
You do not have to be super strong, very smart or anything else amazing. It’s enough that you have a body that you want to spend time with. All you need is to try; have a desire to find this moment where you are, where you exist instead of thinking so much.
You can walk on the road back to presence and joy of life with yoga. Do you think it’s worth the effort to be able to find so much, go this route? I’ll be happy to take you for a walk.
I could attach a Bible about why yoga works, why it’s so good for you. I’ll be happy to share a few chapters if you’re interested.
But I hope you would rather try. Some things are hard to understand just by reading. Hope to see you on the mat!
